Opening Ceremony of United Nations Military Gender Advisor (UN MGA) Course

Aim of the Course: To prepare potential Military Gender Advisers (MGA) for the component commanders with the required knowledge of Gender Perspective into the works of UNPO.

Objectives of the Course. The objective of the course is to:

a. Develop behavioral and social skills specific to the roles and responsibilities of a Military Gender Advisor (MGA).
b. Build the skills, motivation, and appropriate attitudes required to effectively perform the roles of an MGA and Military Gender Focal Point (MGFP).
c. Become agents of change in promoting gender equality and advancing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda.
d. Contribute actively to the protection and inclusion of sexual and gender minorities.

Closing Ceremony of WPSC-13 on 27 Aug 2026

Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training conducted Women Peace and Security Course – 13 from 23 – 27 Aug 2026. A Total 18 participants, where 09 participants from Bangladesh Army, 02 participants each from Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air force, Bangladesh Police and 03 overseas participants from Pakistan, Philippines and Qatar attended the course.

The aim of the course was to promote a better understanding on the UN policies, guidelines and principles of WPS with the objectives of learning UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and other related resolutions and implications, Exploring the important concepts on gender issues, Understand four pillars of WPS, i.e. Prevention, Protection, Participation and Relief & Recovery Understand the conceptual and operational issues involved in integrating a gender perspective into multidimensional Peace Operation and last but not the least to Apply theoretical knowledge in understanding WPS through various learning activities.

To achieve this aim, the course included lectures, interactive sessions and panel discussions. To make the training realistic and interesting, most of the sessions were followed by learning activities and Q&A. To apply the acquired knowledge, the course also conducted one Scenario Based Exercise. The sessions were conducted by the Subject Matter Experts from BIPSOT, Gender Advisors from Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, BD Air force and Bangladesh Navy, Senior officer from Bangladesh Police, Faculty from Dhaka University and also expert from UN organizations like UN Women BD. Facilitation by Respected Secretary Form Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, added different dimensions to this course.

Closing Ceremony of UNCCC-19 on 13 Aug 2026

BIPSOT conducted United Nations Contingent Commanders’ Course (UNCCC)-19 from 02 - 13 Aug 2026. On 13 August 2026, the Closing Ceremony of UNCCC-19 was held. Commandant BIPSOT, Major General Hussain Muhammad Masihur Rahman, SGP, SPP, ndc, afwc, psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A total of 13 officers from different outfits attended the course. Among them, 08 officers were from Bangladesh Army, 01 officer from Bangladesh Navy, 01 officer from Bangladesh Air Force and 01 officer from Bangladesh Police. Moreover, friendly countries, Morocco and Pakistan sent one participant each for the course. The duration of this course was 2 weeks and was held from 02-13 August 2026. This course enabled potential Contingent Commanders to discharge their duties effectively, efficiently and professionally in United Nations Peace Operations. Throughout the course, the participants demonstrated commendable discipline, enthusiasm and professional commitment.

Visit by the delegation team from Dept of Peace, Conflict and Human Rights of BUP on 09 Jun 2026

To enhance expertise in Peace, Conflict, Human Rights BIPSOT has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the University of Dhaka, Jahangirnagar University, BRAC University, North South University, BUP, and Bangladesh Open University.
Under regular knowledge-sharing programs on this subject, the relevant departments of these universities are actively participating in various workshops, seminars, visits, and other activities organized by BIPSOT.
As part of this ongoing collaboration, on 9 June 2026, a delegation team from Dept of Peace, Conflict and Human Rights of Bangladesh University of Professionals paid a training visit at BIPSOT.
