Closing Ceremony of WPSC-13 on 27 Aug 2026
Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training conducted Women Peace and Security Course – 13 from 23 – 27 Aug 2026. A Total 18 participants, where 09 participants from Bangladesh Army, 02 participants each from Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air force, Bangladesh Police and 03 overseas participants from Pakistan, Philippines and Qatar attended the course.
The aim of the course was to promote a better understanding on the UN policies, guidelines and principles of WPS with the objectives of learning UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and other related resolutions and implications, Exploring the important concepts on gender issues, Understand four pillars of WPS, i.e. Prevention, Protection, Participation and Relief & Recovery Understand the conceptual and operational issues involved in integrating a gender perspective into multidimensional Peace Operation and last but not the least to Apply theoretical knowledge in understanding WPS through various learning activities.
To achieve this aim, the course included lectures, interactive sessions and panel discussions. To make the training realistic and interesting, most of the sessions were followed by learning activities and Q&A. To apply the acquired knowledge, the course also conducted one Scenario Based Exercise. The sessions were conducted by the Subject Matter Experts from BIPSOT, Gender Advisors from Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, BD Air force and Bangladesh Navy, Senior officer from Bangladesh Police, Faculty from Dhaka University and also expert from UN organizations like UN Women BD. Facilitation by Respected Secretary Form Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, added different dimensions to this course.
